One of fewer than 600 examples built, these cars are generally eligible for vintage tours and top concours d’elegance events as well as prestigious continental long distance rallies and events such as the MILLE MIGLIA - Brescia - Rome - Brescia 1000 mile road rally in tribute to the famous 1000 mile road race last run in 1957
Owned in 1962 in Italy by a Mr Brett, then aged 30, (DoB 1932) an Englishman who was resident in the coastal fishing port of Anzio - 30 miles south of Rome - he imported this car to the UK on 2 January 1964.
From 1964 this car has been in the UK for some 57 years
Capable of a listed 115 mph in this form - and indeed proven today - in those days this car would have cost significantly more than an E-type Jaguar for instance
Since 1981 this car has been in the present family ownership, firstly the gentleman who initiated a comprehensive restoration, and subsequently by his two sons since approximately 2013 when they completed the restoration.

This model is the final iteration of Touring’s Superleggera super lightweight aluminium coachwork over tubular steel framework, offered standard with 115bhp, 1975cc double overhead cam four cylinder engine running on two twin choke Solex carburettors and by this time now included a floor shift 5-speed gearbox instead of the column shift 4 speed.
This year this car recorded 117bhp on 19th May 2022 - please see Midland Speedshop rolling road report photos - when the max speed attained was 114.8 mph - spot on the original specification
RESTORATION : Restored by John Densham for the present owner’s father in the 1997 period – at the time he achieved 0-60mph in 8.0 seconds, 43/43 mph in first, 63/64 mph in second, 88 mph in third, 110 mph in fourth - and a tad more in 5th gear. He also quoted Paul Frere’s road test when he was unable to obtain more than 110 mph according to his book with 0-60 in 14 seconds.
Since completion in 2013 there are one or two jobs to be done on this car to make it perfect again
